Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization

Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization is not about politics. It is about the survivors. (text of this post via PADV)

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) plans to bring VAWA, S. 1925, to the Senate Floor very soon-possibly this week. Many news articles in the past few days have portrayed VAWA as a political tool – but we know how critical VAWA is to survivors’ lives. We still need everyone who cares about VAWA to call their senators and urge them to vote YES on VAWA!

Action 1: Call both of your senators’ D.C. offices today and ask them vote YES on VAWA

Saxby Chambliss: 202.224.3521
Johnny Isakson: 202.224.3643

Be sure to tell them: I urge you to support the Violence Against Women Act and vote YES on S. 1925 AS IS. Don’t use VAWA as a political tool – pass it now so that all survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking can get the support they need.
