It’s Almost Time to Vote

November 5, 2012 § Leave a comment

Women have been one of the most strongly courted groups of voters this election year, so the WRC wants to encourage you to use your vote tomorrow and let your voices be heard. Regardless of the candidate you choose to cast your vote for, we hope that today you remember all of the women who came before you and fought so hard to make sure that women had access to participate in the politics of our nation.

If you need some additional inspiration to wait in line at the polls, check out Iron Jawed Angels, a film that chronicles the final years of the women’s suffrage movement in the United States.  It gets me every time.

So, get out there and vote. Vote for yourself, for the women who came before you and the women who will come after you. Vote for the women who never had an opportunity adn the women who were arrested and went on hunger strikes so that you could have your voice heard.
